The Meghalaya government is consulting various stakeholders before taking a final decision on the proposed Shree Cement project in the state.
Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, speaking in Shillong on August 13, said discussions are being held with different stakeholders as the government evaluates the project and considers its potential impact.
The consultation process is expected to provide inputs on the project's broader implications, including industrial development and local concerns, before the government decides on the way forward.
The development comes as Meghalaya continues to assess opportunities for industrial investment while balancing economic development with the interests of local communities and the state's environmental considerations.
